A Week at PrimeLife 20th – 26th June 2022

Monday 20th

 

Riversway in Bristol

Grace celebrated her 93rd birthday on 15th June. We decorated her room with balloons and banners. She loved her card and chocolates from everyone at Riversway! We made our own Jam. Linda very kindly baked a fresh loaf of bread so we could have it with the Jam. It was delicious. Everyone had a second helping because it was so delicious. We had fun and laughter whilst enjoying each other’s company. Lilian and Barbara had a lovely pamper session. They enjoyed their hair being washed and set. Followed by a nice cup of tea and cake while they waited for their hair to dry.  

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had a wonderful day out to Bridlington for Fathers Day yesterday. We went on a pirate ship, enjoyed fish n chips, did a spot of shopping and escape from some seagulls! The residents had a brilliant time and would like to thank Marlene, Pam, and Kathryn for taking them and to Michael the bus driver.   Two of our lovely residents enjoyed a walk in the sun together. They both really like getting out and enjoying some fresh air!  

Clarence House in Horncastle

A very happy 30th Birthday to Dwayne! We took a trip out for some fun games and lunch at a diner, followed by a special dinner to celebrate in the evening. We all had such a good day, especially Dwayne!  

Tuesday 21st

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

We have been working hard on our allotment, getting it ready for this year’s plants, getting some planted already and generally having a good old spring clean. A very Happy birthday to June from Oakdene in Mansfield. We hope you had a wonderful day!

Riversway in Bristol

Bridget enjoyed a game of bat and balloon! She said she likes to keep fit and rewarded herself with a nice cuppa and a cake after.

Netherlands in Horncastle

Everyone had such a wonderful time at our garden party! Clarence House joined us for a BBQ and a bit of sing-song with Mr Music last Friday. The weather was beautiful with smiles on all our faces! It was such a lovely day.

Riversway in Bristol

We had some fun and games in the lounge. Everyone worked hard with some of us in pairs. We listened to some 50s and 60s music while we had fun playing one of our favourite games, Bat and Balloon!

Oakdene in Mansfield

A few of our lovely residents decided to enjoy the nice weather and went for a bite to eat and some shopping at the local market. We all had a wonderful time!  

Thursday 23rd

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had a showing of the first Downton Abbey film in our Cinema room, and it was packed. Everyone had a wonderful time watching the film whilst enjoying popcorn and drinks.  

Riversway in Bristol

We had a lovely afternoon enjoying some cheese and wine! We listened to some of our favourite music while we all appreciated different types of cheese crackers and grapes. We had a fun afternoon, enjoying each other’s company. Riversway in Bristol made these lovely Father’s Day word pictures for some of their dads at Riversway. They had fruit beer and snacks whilst listening to music. They had a lovely afternoon together.

Stoneygate Oaklands in Leicester

We had the animal lady bring her animals to Oaklands! There was a wide collection of different animals and all the residents took the chance to hold each animal. They all enjoyed themselves and are looking forward to her coming back.

Friday 24th

 

Riversway in Bristol

Milly spent some one-to-one time with Jaqueline. Jaqueline loves horses, so they looked at lots of different types of horses on the iPad. She had a nice chat with Milly and enjoyed a cake and a cup of tea.

Clarence House in Horncastle

We took a wonderful trip out to our local, the Bull Hotel, for some lovely food and drink. Everyone had a brilliant time!

Oakdene in Mansfield

Part of what we do is ensure we spend some quality time with our residents, whether it’s one on one or in small groups. Often that can be to complete needed tasks like a trip to the bank, or just a nice afternoon walk. Often we will get a treat whilst out as well. Everyone really enjoys these sessions together.  

Saturday 25th

Riversway in Bristol

We were very lucky to have Milly’s little baby bunny pop in to see our lovely residents. Everyone fell in love with the baby rabbit and enjoyed lots of cuddles with him, he was very gentle with everyone and we look forward to watching him grow and visit us again soon.

Oakdene in Mansfield

We have been busy at the Oakdene Allotment again, ensuring all the plants are coming along nicely, tidying the area and adding in some more plants to grow.

Sunday 26th

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had a packed full weekend last week, with plenty of activities for everyone to take part in. We had some baking, board games and even some dancing going on in the home!

Riversway in Bristol

We enjoyed our little church service. We had refreshments and sang lots of our favourite hymns. We even had a dance after requests from some of our residents!  

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

We took a trip out to the local car boot sale to see what goodies we could find. Everyone really enjoyed the trip out, and the weather was fantastic!
