Riversway Bingo is back! Everyone had a brilliant time playing a few rounds of bingo, with some lovely gifts handed out to the winners. And, of course, everyone at Riversway Bingo is a winner, so we all had our favourite sweets as a prize at the end.

Phoenix Park in Scunthorpe

Staff attended the Mangar Eagle Lifting Cushion training. North Lincolnshire Council has provided the home with the equipment and asked us to pilot the cushion to help assist with any falls and to help reduce 999 calls and hospital admissions following a fall. Michelle had the honour of being our “resident” to help train the team and show it in action. This is a brilliant new piece of equipment that will be a big asset to the home.

Residents had lots of fun for Burns Night yesterday. We read some Rabbie Burns poems, Bob read one in a very good Scottish accent. We also played Scottish dance music, everyone clapped along, whilst those who can dance a little did. Earlier residents completed the word search & posters. It was a very fun day.

Saturday 28th

Barons Park in Kirby Muxloe

We received this outstanding review on carehome.co.uk! A massive well done to the incredible staff team 👏👏

“My mum is in the Connections Unit in Barons Park. The care staff in the unit are lovely and nothing is too much trouble. Mum’s room is very nice and has ensuite facilities too.

Mum has severe dementia, which makes communication quite difficult, but the carers and nursing staff take great care of Mum. The manager and reception staff are very welcoming and always happy to answer any questions. I know Mum is happy and well looked after at Barons Park.”

Riversway in Bristol

Mike, Edward, June and Bridget really enjoyed sticking the leaves onto the trees we had painted and prepared for them. They had tea and cakes and we listened to music from the big iPad whilst we crafted, it was a lovely session!
