Oakdene in Mansfield

We have been having a relaxing time in the home, with some lovely activities and a good cuppa! We hope you have all had a wonderful Easter! We had a wonderful afternoon making some Easter Cakes! It’s always fun to get together and make something!    

Tuesday 19th

 

Meadow View in Alcester

A massive well done to the whole team at Meadow View in Alcester on retaining a 5 Star Food Hygiene Rating! This is a huge achievement, you should all be so proud of the result!

Riversway in Bristol

A huge happy birthday to Pat, who celebrated her 91st last Saturday. We decorated her room with banners and balloons and she loved her card and gift from all of us at Riversway.   Last Thursday we were pleased to have Anne-Louise and Mark do a lovely church service for us! We were also very lucky to have St Aidan’s Church choir sing some beautiful Easter hymns! Everyone enjoyed the service and after we had a hot cross bun and cup of tea!   We handed out an Easter egg or teddy to all the residents as a little Easter gift! Everyone loved their gifts!  

Oakdene in Mansfield

With the weather having been so nice we decided to enjoy some time in the garden! We had lots of fun this Easter, with everyone getting into the spirit of the weekend. We also had a fun Easter Day bingo with some prizes on the line!  

Old Station Close in Shepshed

At Old Station Close over the last couple of days, residents have been enjoying watching the chicks hatch. We had 10 eggs and surprisingly all 10 hatched, and they are all healthy and happy chicks. They are now in their brooder box until they grow a little bigger. 🙂 We also had an amazing easter buffet today. A BIG Thank you to staff member Derek who oversaw the Buffet food the residents loved it.

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

We had a lovely time over Easter decorating some biscuits! Some put some special messages on them and others just made them colourful!  

Meadow View in Alcester

The residents had a visit from two bunnies and a chick for Easter! Some staff members dressed up and took some gifts around to all the residents, it was a lot of fun and the residents loved it!

 

Wednesday 20th

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had lots of fun together making some Easter Cakes. We made some smaller rice crispy cakes, where we added chocolate eggs and some Easter decorations to them and some larger cakes, which all enjoyed with a nice cuppa! We had some fun over the Easter weekend with some themed crafts.  

Riversway in Bristol

June and Bridget made an Easter bonnet. They had a lovely chat about Easter and enjoyed cake and tea. They were both very pleased with their bonnets!   Rita Joyce and Wilfred enjoyed a morning of water painting followed by listening to some of our favourite music! We had a lovely time and enjoyed singing one of our favourite songs ‘Sweet Caroline’ whilst we held hands, it was a special moment together! We had such beautiful weather on Good Friday that we made the most of it by spending time in our lovely garden. We had ice creams and music everyone had a fun afternoon!

Chestnut House in Marton

Easter is always fun at Chestnut House, we had a lovely morning Easter Egg hunt followed by some Easter-themed crafts. Everyone had a wonderful day!  

Phoenix Park in Scunthorpe

The chicks at The Fairways are now all hatched and healthy. The residents love them, so when possible they spoil them with cuddles.

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

The residents had a little bit of fun with an Easter egg hunt! The winner was very pleased with their prize!  

Thursday 21st

 

Riversway in Bristol

Stella received some lovely gifts from her daughter for Easter. She really loved her card plant and biscuits! We had our lovely little Riversway church service! We enjoyed singing our favourite hymns and listening to each other’s stories and reminiscing about our past experiences at church. We had tea and cakes and even managed to sing a few hymns to Rosanna as she couldn’t attend the service!

After our Easter dinner, we went for a nice walk to help it settle. We had a lovely time taking a stroll together.   We had a pamper day on Bank Holiday Monday, with a few of our lovely residents having their nails painted! We think they look lovely!  

Barons Park in Kirby Muxloe

This week at Barons Park we have been very busy celebrating Easter! We had a visit from the Easter Bunny who had a chocolate treat for all of the residents and staff, which put a big smile on everyone’s face! We also held some competitions, including an egg and spoon race, Easter bonnets and decorating the egg competition, which was judged by our visitors. Everyone had fun and it became very competitive! The winners received Easter eggs! On Good Friday we all enjoyed some yummy hot cross buns, which went down a treat! Happy Easter, everyone!  

Little Acers in Nuthall

We had a wonderful trip to Twycross Zoo last Friday. All the residents loved seeing all the different animals and we all enjoyed fish and chips for dinner!

Cherry Tree Lodge in Lincoln

Guess who came to Cherry Tree Lodge today and on her 96th birthday too! The residents had so much fun celebrating Her Majesty the Queen’s birthday today! We would love to wish Her Majesty a very Happy Birthday, we hope you had a wonderful day!

Friday 22nd

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

Over the weekend, Colin fancied doing a spot of gardening as the weather was so nice, and Pam wanted a change so had a fresh haircut. We took a trip out to the local bowling alley. Everyone really enjoys these trips out, we get to have some competition with one another and we always have such a nice meal in the cafe.  

Riversway in Bristol

We took Victoria over to the Coop as she fancied getting herself a few treats. We had a lovely chat on the way over and Victoria loves getting some fresh air!

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

With the weather being nice, we decided it was time to crack out some of the old games and enjoyed a session of Garden Bowls together! Everyone had a brilliant time!  

Netherlands in Horncastle

Everyone here at the Netherlands really enjoyed their Easter Egg Hunt, but enjoyed eating the eggs much much more! We hope you all had a wonderful Easter last weekend!  

Saturday 23rd

 

Riversway in Bristol

Barbara enjoyed having her hair washed and set. She had a nice cake and chat with Lisa while she was waiting for her hair to dry.  

Oakdene in Mansfield

A few of our lovely residents enjoyed a walk in the park, followed by some gardening, where we planted some potatoes in the Oakdene allotment. Such a fun way to spend an afternoon together!  

Loran House in Hull

We would like to wish ‘Sylvia and Brian’ a massive Happy Birthday from Ash and all the staff here at Loran. We held a birthday party for them both, which was enjoyed by all!  

Sunday 24th

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had a wonderful trip out to Cleethorpes. Everyone had a brilliant day, Michael the bus driver started his own disco up on the streets. Pam enjoyed the helter-skelter and the big wheel with the residents’ Tina and Ivan. We all enjoyed ice creams, doughnuts, fish ‘n’ chips and to finish the day off we went to MacDonald’s A massive thanks to, Marlene Pam and Micheal for a brilliant day with a lot of laughs!
