Life at PrimeLife – July 2023

It’s been another busy and jam-packed month in our homes this month. With the lovely weather we had in early July and even in the wetter days our residents have had some amazing days out.

Acorn Close took a trip out to the Desford Bird Sanctuary, where they meet loads of different and colourful new friends and enjoyed a picnic in the sun. Find Acorn Close on Facebook here. Residents from Barons Park had a wonderful trip out to Dobbies Garden Center. It was a drastic change from the  Birmingham Wildlife Park they had planned on visiting, but sadly the weather wasn’t great. But they made the best of it and really enjoyed their day out. Find Barons Park on Facebook here. Residents at Beechlands joined the staff in supporting senior Anita in her 10k Race for Life challenge. They created signs and cheered on them as she passed the finish line, everyone in the home is so proud of Anita and her amazing achievement. Find Beechlands on Facebook here. Brackendale has been getting in the football spirit by supporting the Lionesses in the Women’s FIFA World Cup. It was also a chance to try some mocktails! Find Brackendale on Facebook here. The residents at Chamberlain Court had a busy day visiting West Midlands Safari Park, it was a last-minute change from the trip to the seaside planned due to poor weather but everyone loved meeting all the animals. Find Chamberlain Court on Facebook here. For a change of location and something different, the residents from Charnwood Oaks took a trip to visit Woodville. Woodville treated their guests to come amazing entertainment followed by dinner before returning home. Find Charnwood Oaks on Facebook here. Clarence House enjoyed the sunny weather by heading over to a local strawberry field to pick some strawberries! They enjoyed them once home with a good drink. Find Clarence House on Facebook here. Residents from Fir Close enjoyed a magical trip out to Mablethrope, where they enjoyed a walk along the beach, a few games in the arcades and a fish and chip supper! Find Fir Close on Facebook here. Carol from Glengarriff loved her trip out shopping, she picked up an activity book from the Works which had loads of fun ideas to do. Find Glengarriff on Facebook here. Little Acres braved the dark skies to enjoy a day at Scarborough, they enjoyed a drip in the sea, ice cream and a fish and chip dinner after a spot of shopping. Find Little Acres on Facebook here. Dawn and Emrys from Lyndon Croft celebrated their 70th Wedding Anniversary with a party for all the residents! Find Lyndon Croft on Facebook here. Three lovely ladies at Meadow View enjoyed a good pamper session, all saying how nice it was to have a fresh look and new colours to show off. Find Meadow View on Facebook here.  A few residents from Oakdene enjoyed a nice trip out to Pleasley Colliery Pits who were celebrating their 150 anniversary. They loved looking around the museum and learning all about what life used to be like in the pits. Find Oakdene on Facebook here. Despite the weather, the residents from Riversway enjoyed a fun-filled day out at Weston-Super-Mare! It was a busy day of walks along the pier whilst enjoying ice cream, and games on the 2p slots in the arcade followed by Fish and Chip dinner before heading home. Find Riversway on Facebook here. Sandybrook House had the pleasure of hosting Shad Chefs Man Hub, they are a group dedicated to looking after mental health. The residents loved the visits and the chit-chat they had with the hub. Find Sandybrook House on Facebook here. The residents from Springhill enjoyed a visit from the Clayton community choir who sang a lot of songs for the residents to enjoy a dance to. The Mount enjoyed the sunny weather with a good old fashed BBQ to celebrate Independence Day with their friends across the pond. Everyone enjoyed a burger and beer in the garden, it was a very fun day!
