Loran House in Hull

Last week we had what’s called a dementia Mapper in the home. Dementia Care Mapping is an observational tool used for a variety of purposes in a range of settings. Assessment and care planning Training needs analysis Staff development Continuous quality improvement Benchmarking and quality assurance During the visit, we were told that it is very difficult to get a score of +5. Loran House got 28 +5’s. A huge congratulations to all the staff at Loran House for their part in the day, as it shows how well they interact with the service users and know their needs. After a meeting was held with the Dementia Mapper to give her verbal feedback and her words were ‘ in the 10 years of working as a Dementia Mapper she has never written a report with 0 recommendations.’ WELL DONE LORAN HOUSE STAFF! THIS IS A HUGE ACHIEVEMENT AND YOU SHOULD ALL BE VERY PROUD OF YOURSELVES. THANK YOU FOR ALL YOUR HARD WORK.

Stoneygate Oaklands in Leicester

We received this outstanding review on carehome.co.uk! A massive well done to the incredible staff team 👏👏

“My great auntie went to Stoneygate Oaklands Leicester for two weeks while stuff was being sorted out at her old house for her return. After returning home, we could see that my auntie needed round-the-clock support and needed to be safe and live a good life. My auntie returned to Stoneygate Oaklands, as the staff never wanted my auntie to leave; I should have listened to their advice when they said it would be in her best interest to stay!

My auntie suffered from high anxiety and depression; this can change through the year – even when she’s low in a mood, she is nowhere near to what she used to be. It was so hard to always go to her house and see she hadn’t eaten for days or even moved to keep up with personal hygiene.

My aunty’s life has gained so much happiness, and she braves going out with the help of the staff, which she had not done for many years before. I have a demanding job, so I’m very busy, but the staff always keep me updated – God bless them all.”
Oaklands is Halloween Ready! We just love the spooky season!

We had a clothing company come in called Kay’s Fashion. They had some beautiful clothes for sale that the residents could look through, try on and buy if they liked them.
