The elves were busy handing out some beautiful flowers kindly donated by our local CoOp.
We had lots of smiles when we popped around to see everyone!

Tuesday 3rd

Everyone at Oakdene would like to wish you all a Happy New Year!
It was a rainy day here, so we had a lovely evening in the home to see the new year in. We enjoyed some drinks, food and music.
We also had a few rounds of Hot Chocolate Pong, where the winners got a lovely hot coco after.
We enjoyed some games in our wonderful Arcade room over the Christmas break!

Happy New Year Everyone!
Like most people, our residents had some New Years’ Resolutions they wanted to make.
So we got together to write them down. We turned them into the home’s resolution wall so we can all see what we want to aim for this year!

David and Mike enjoyed some 1-1 time with Teresa playing a matching game.
They also enjoyed a nice chat together and a cake.
The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield
We had a lovely evening out enjoying some one-to-one time in a pub in Mansfield.
We played some bingo and cards and enjoyed some good music and karaoke.
Wednesday 4th

A huge Happy birthday to both Sue and Colin, who celebrated their birthdays on the 2nd of January!
We enjoyed a trip out to Young Vanish for a spot of lunch.
They always do nice food, especially the puddings!

Evelyn celebrated her 94th birthday on 3rd January!
She had a lovely afternoon tea with her family in the activity room.
Evelyn loved her flowers and card from Riversway and said her cake tasted delicious.
She had some wonderful flowers and gifts from her family and said it had been a lovely afternoon.

Thursday 5th
Oakdene in Mansfield
We took a trip out to Kings Mill Farm for a spot of lunch.
We just love the food here, and the portion sizes are amazing!

Mike enjoyed some 1-1 time with Lisa in the activity room, he looked at the old classic car books and had two cups of tea and cake.
He said it’s nice in there!
Friday 6th
Riversway in Bristol
Lisa coloured Barbara’s hair, followed by a washed and set.
We had some soft music playing with a log fire effect on the big iPad. After Barbara enjoyed a cup of tea and a cake and we also managed to FaceTime Stephanie, her daughter, who said Barbara’s hair looks lovely! Barbara said it was such a wonderful afternoon!

It was a lovely way to pass a quiet afternoon.

Lisa cut Andrews’s hair, he wanted a nice cut for Christmas when his family were visiting.
He really liked the cut and enjoyed a cold drink with a lovely chat whilst Lisa worked her magic.

We have been enjoying a wide range of activities in the home recently.
We had some fun with our giant parachute, some nail painting and enjoyed live music on a mini guitar.
Sunday 8th
Oakdene in Mansfield
We had a wonderful trip out to the local museum.
It is full of so many interesting facts and wonders from Mansfield and the surrounding area.
We got some goodies from the gift shop to finish the visit.
