A Week at PrimeLife 8th – 14th May

Monday 8th

 

Riversway

We enjoyed having Rob and Sian back in at Riversway with one of their wonderful sets. They sang lots of familiar songs that the residents joined in with, it was a wonderful afternoon.  

Tuesday 9th

 

Clarence House

Everyone got involved in decorating the home for the King’s Coronation and we think the home looks amazing! A special thank you to Cat, our chef, for her amazing cakes, they tasted amazing!  

Beechlands

We had so much fun at our street party. There was a massive spread of food for everyone on the street to enjoy with us. Many of our nabours joined us for the day. We all had lots of chats and enjoyed everyone’s company, it was a fun day.  

White Acres

We had a brilliant coronation party. We played a selection of games, including ‘King Splat’, where we had to throw the ears on the king. A big thank you to Kim who made an amazing King Charles cake and some very tasty cupcakes, the residents loved them! We all had such a wonderful day!

Lutterworth

We had a fantastic afternoon celebrating the new King! Everyone really enjoyed the party and loved seeing our special guest ‘King Charles III’.

Riversway

We had the wonderful Andy T back into Riversway with one of his fantastic sets. Everyone enjoyed singing lots of familiar songs. It was a very fun afternoon. We had Frankie join us on Friday for our pre-coronation party! He sang lots of familiar songs that we all were able to join in with, some of the residents even had a dance with Frankie. Everybody said they had a brilliant afternoon.

Woodlands

We had a coronation party on Saturday fit for a King! The residents had a arts and crafts session to make their crowns which they all wore with pride. We also had delicious red, white and blue cupcakes made for all residents. Everyone said they had a really wonderful day!

Wednesday 10th

 

Old Station Close

A massive well done to the whole team on scoring a 100% on environment in the recent infection control inspection. This is a huge achievement, you should all be so proud of the result!

Woodlands

Ensuring our staff have all the available skills to help our residents in the case of an emergency is of the utmost importance to us. Our staff successfully completed evacuation sledge training last week, another tool for them to utilise if an emergency ever does arise.

Beechlands

In preparation for the Street Party, Kalwant enjoyed making a cake and decorating cupcakes with the staff. She was very impressed with it! So were we, they looked delicious!

Riversway

We were very lucky to have a personal visit from King Charles at our coronation party! Everybody got the chance to meet him, it was lots of fun!

Oakdene

I would like to thank all my work colleagues for making my 60th birthday wishes special! Much love to you all, from Marlene!  

Clarence House

We joined a Party in the Park to celebrate the King’s Coronation. There was live music and entertainers who were teaching us how to do circus tricks. It was a very fun day!  

Thursday 11th

 

Clarence House and the Netherlands

A Royal Ball was attended by residents and staff from Clarence House and the Netherlands. Every resident was a member of the royal family, all dressed in their finest, topped with crowns and tiaras, and all the staff dressed as maids with Vanessa as head maid and organiser. Chris (our sports coach) played the role of Arch Bishop who crowned King Charles (George) and Queen Camilla (Karen)! A royal buffet, including a crown cake created by our amazing chef Cat, followed by lots of singing and dancing thanks to our entertainer George (local guitarist and entertainer). It was an amazing day! Eleanor would also like to say thank you to all the staff and residents for the amazing party, especially to Cat, Julie, Jo, Rachel, Tarryn, Sherrie, and Sky and a special huge thank you to Vanessa!  

Westerlands

Welcome to the Great Westerlands Games! Everyone had a brilliant time at our sports day. There was a wide range of games for everyone to take part in! By the end of the day, we all decided we deserved a medal and a rest!  

Oakdene

We had such a lovely shopping trip. The weather was nice and we managed to find a good collection of goodies to bring home.

Riversway

We invited friends and family to join us for a Coronation Party at Riversway. We had lots of delicious food for everyone to pick from including some very delicious cupcakes. Everyone said it was such a fun afternoon, spending time together!

Beechlands

Tracy and Karen made some lovely crowns for our street party! Everyone thinks that they looked absolutely amazing, and the staff are super proud!  

Chamberlaine Court

Our Residents have had a great weekend watching the Coronation! They have all said it has made them feel proud for King and Country!  

Friday 12th

 

Old Station Close, Acorn Close and White Acres

On Monday, despite the weather, Old Station Close, Acorn Close and White Acres got together for a good old-fashioned tea party.
We had the fabulous Nick Golden, a vintage entertainer, raffles and games.
The residents had the best time and were so pleased to see each other again.
 
The raffle raised a fantastic £540 in total, so a big thanks to everyone in the community who took part.
 
A big shout out to, Frankie for her son’s cake sale contribution, Paige and Carrie for their amazing efforts sourcing the raffle prizes and Derek for making all the lovely food!
 

Beechlands

We won 1st Place in the cake competition for our street party!
Well done to Resident Kalwant and Senior Kayse.
The judges were very impressed with all the hard work put into it.
We got complimented for the best taste and won a box of chocolates, YUM.

Riversyway

We handed out fresh jam and cream scones to all the residents on Saturday for the coronation. Everybody enjoyed their treat and said we had a lovely selection.

Oakdene

We had a fun afternoon playing some of our favourite games and having a laugh.  

Westerlands

We had the Mobile Museum in the home with lots of goodies for our residents to look through. It was such a wonderful trip down memory lane!

The Mount

Today we are celebrating Anna’s last day as a manager at The Mount. She has been absolutely fantastic with all the staff and residents and we all wish her the best with her future career! You will be missed! Good Luck, Anna

Saturday 13th

 

Lyndon Croft

We all got together to celebrate Pam’s birthday on Thursday! There was music, singing, laughter, good food and even better company. Everyone had a brilliant time, especially Pam! Happy Birthday, Pam!  

Oakdene

We had a lovely trip out for a spot of lunch!

Woodlands

We had a great afternoon at Woodlands with Dave and his Music Memories. He played so many songs we all love from across the decades. A lovely afternoon was had by all.

Riversway

We watched the Coronation live whilst enjoying a glass of Bailey’s. We provided a printout for the residents of the itinerary of events for the coronation. We were just having lunch together as the king was crowned, it was a lovely day.  

Sunday 14th

 

Oakdene

We had such a wonderful trip to Matlock. Everyone enjoyed a good wander around looking at all the sights followed by a chippy lunch. It was a wonderful day.  

Clarence House

We had a wonderful afternoon out shopping followed by a cheeky coffee at Costa.

Riversway

We enjoyed a beautiful church service with holy communion. A big thank you to the Nun and Priest from Saint Patrick’s Church who visited us to bless and perform holy communion with some of the residents.
