Monday 5th
Meadow View
We have some of the best seats in the house for the Midlands Air Festival.
There were lots for us all to see from our very own garden, but we loved the display by the red arrows the most.
Riversway
We had fun in the garden, soaking up the sunshine and enjoying a lovely chat and an ice cream.
Oakdene
We celebrated Frank’s birthday over the weekend.
He had a lovely day and really enjoyed the cake we got for him.
Stuart thinks he looks much better after his makeover!
The Fieldings
We had a lovely time in Matlock, enjoying a good wander around the town, playing in the arcades and enjoying a chippy supper.
Tuesday 6th
The Fieldings
We had a wonderful pamper session followed by a BBQ in the sun!
Everyone had a brilliant day.
Oakdene
The local bowling alley is one of our favourite places.
We get to have a round or two of bowling followed by some grub in the cafe.
Everyone always has such a brilliant time.
Riversway
The Sun was shining, just the most beautiful day to walk around looking at all the different animals Noah’s Ark Zoo has to offer.
It was so nice we enjoyed an ice cream after we had walked the whole way round. Everyone had such a wonderful day.
We would like to thank Michael for driving us there and back. He’s always such a pleasure to have on our trips.
Meadow View
We had so much fun planting some sunflower seeds!
We are now excited to watch them grow.
Wednesday 7th
Lutterworth
We had so much fun decorating some cakes.
But we had, even more, fun eating them after with a nice cuppa!
Riversway
We had a surprise for Shaun whilst visiting Noah’s Ark Zoo.
His wife, son and daughter all joined us to meet him there!
It was such a lovely surprise, which made the day that much more special. Shaun said he loved the fuzzy animals the most.
We all enjoyed lunch in the cafe together and the food was spot on!
Larry celebrated his 95th Birthday on the 30th of May.
He loved his cards and gifts from Riversway.
We decorated his room with balloons and banners and sang happy birthday.

We enjoyed an afternoon of games, some inside and others outside in the lovely sun!
Thursday 8th
Oakdene
A spot of retail therapy is what we needed on this sunny afternoon!
Everyone had a brilliant time and especially enjoyed a chippy lunch.
Riversway
June celebrated her 86th birthday on the 1st of June.
We decorated her room with balloons and banners for the big day.
She loved her present from everyone here at Riversway.
That evening she enjoyed a tea party in the garden with her family.
On the 25th of May we celebrated Africa Day with an Africa Day Party in our garden.
We created a little booklet with lots of facts about Africa, crosswords and puzzles for the residents to enjoy. This helped spark conversations about the continent and the different cultures there.
Once we put on the African Themed music, we had plenty of residents join us on the dance floor to show off their moves.
Friday 9th
Riversway
With all the nice weather, we decided to host our Forget Me Not Cafe in the garden.
Everyone enjoyed lots of lovely chats and a selection of wonderful cakes. Remember, everyone is welcome to join us for our next Forget Me Not Cafe!
Frida celebrated her 93rd birthday on the 1st of June.
She loved her gift from everyone here at Riversway as well as how we had decorated her room with balloons and banners for the big day.
She said she had a lovely day.

A spot of bowling in the garden, we have got to keep our skills up for the next session at the local bowling alley!
Saturday 10th
Riversway
Rita celebrated her 89th birthday on the 5th of June.
She loved her card and box of chocolates from the team here at Riversway.
We also decorated her room with balloons and banners to make the big day that little more special.
We had a wonderful sing-a-along in the garden with some of our favourite songs. There was lots of wildlife around, with the flowers that we planted a few weeks ago getting lots of attention.
We also enjoyed an ice cream as the weather was fantastic!

We had fun with a few games around the home.
The giant Jenga set is always so much fun, especially when it falls.
The air hockey table in our games room is loved by all the residents!
Sunday 11th

We had a lovely shopping trip.
Managed to grab a new shirt and some other bits, followed by a nice cuppa.
Riversway
Jackie celebrated her 92nd birthday on the 5th of June.
She loved her card and chocolate from us all here at Riversway. We decorated her room with banners and balloons for the big day.
A big thank you to our local co-op for the donations of flowers!
The residents had the biggest smiles on their faces as we handed them out!
