Monday 26th
Riversway
A big thank you to the local Co-op for the beautiful flowers donated to us.
As you can see, we have lots of happy faces, as they all really loved their bunches of flowers.
Oakdene
We had a fun day on Saturday with lots of games.
We enjoyed some outside fun so we could soak up the sun and some inside fun to cool down.
Lyndon Croft
We had a lovely nail painting-session!
The ladies loved it.
Tuesday 27th
Oakdene
We are having so much fun in the garden with our cricket and bowls set.
Everyone is really enjoying the sun and it is nice to see the garden being used again.
When not outside we are still gaming in the arcade room!
Lots of fun here at Oakdene.
Riversway
Zen celebrated her 79th birthday on the 18th of June.
We decorated her room with balloons and banners for the big day, and she loved her gifts from Riversway!
We had lots of fun taking turns blowing some bubbles!
Meadow View
We had a lovely trip to Sheldon Country Park.
It was a delightfully hot day, just perfect for a wander around to see all the sights and animals followed by some food and ice cream.
Wednesday 28th
The Old Rectory
We welcomed Sharing Joy into our home, who put on an amazing show for our residents.
Sharing Joy is a performance created for people living with dementia, learning disabilities and other neurological conditions.
They use music, dance, puppetry and laughter, to create an outstanding performance for all who watch.
Riversway
Patricia celebrated her 87th birthday on the 21st of June.
She loved her flowers and card from everybody from Riversway and how we decorated her room with balloons and banners for the day!
We have been making the most of the beautiful weather and had our own Party in the Park with some karaoke in the garden.
We had so much fun, with everybody taking turns singing lots of well-known songs.
We had a little afternoon party for Pat to celebrate her birthday.
She enjoyed a lovely cake and lots of company from her friends.
We sang lots of songs with her and our rendition of happy birthday to her.
She said she had a lovely day!
Oakdene
Sunday means a trip to the local for a drink and some grub!
Thursday 29th
White Acres
We have been busy gardening. We planted some new flowers in our flower bed to bring a bit of colour to our home.
The residents have loved watering them and have said it looks much better!
Oakdene
We decided to enjoy some inside activities to help keep cool.
We played some Bingo followed by residents relishing some downtime with hobbies they enjoy.
Riversway
We had fun playing some classic games.
We enjoyed a few rounds of higher or lower, with the residents using a megaphone so they could shout higher or lower!
We also enjoyed some chair exercises, and listen to some 50s and 60s music, where we all joined in singing together.
Clarence House
We had so much fun baking some mini scones.
The residents really enjoyed the chance to get their hands dirty and make something for everyone else in the home.
They tasted great with a cuppa.
Friday 30th
Riversway
We welcomed back Spangles, a wonderful singer and entertainer who did a fantastic performance for us all in the garden.
We all sang along to our favourite songs and enjoyed the chance of some cold refreshments in the sun.
The Old Rectory
We would like to give a massive shout-out to our wonderful manager Sarah and care assistant Sam, who share a birthday today!
We had a bbq for lunch and the residents braved the weather in the garden. We all had a lovely time.
White Acres
Sadly the weather didn’t hold out for the White Acres BBQ but we didn’t let it stop our fun.
Everyone had a brilliant time, and the food tasted amazing!
Saturday 1st
Riversway
Pat and June had some fun with some pebble art, creating two beautiful pictures!
They had lots of chats and enjoyed tea and cakes while they were busy with their artwork.

The Fieldings
We took a trip to a local bowling alley for a few rounds of ten-pin bowling!
Everyone had such a lovely time, the residents said they really enjoyed their trip out!
Sunday 2nd
The Fieldings
Whilst enjoying a shopping trip, we stopped to listen to an incredible busker, who had come 4th on the voice uk in 2018.
He sang sweet Caroline to our lovely resident, who loved every second.
Acorn Close
We had such a lovely day at the Desford Bird Sanctuary!
We got to meet and hold so many new friends. It is such a wonderful experience, everyone loves it!
The sun was shining so we enjoyed a picnic in the park in the beautiful weather.
Riversway
We welcomed Father Antonio from Saint Patrick’s Church into the home who performed a beautiful church service and holy communion for a Catholic residence.
We had tea, coffee and cakes with lots of chats about our favourite memories of going to church.
