“This is a lovely care home. The staff are very friendly and caring. Mum moved here at the end of last year and settled very quickly. It has a very home-from-home feel about it and I would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a care home for their relatives. All care homes have issues but this is well-run by lovely people.”
Riversway in Bristol
We enjoyed some light exercise with Nicola from Alive activities.
We had lots of fun using the different props and can’t wait for our next session!
Sian and Rob played a wonderful set for us all here at Riversway.
They sang lots of old songs that all the residents remembered and love to join in singing along to.
We can’t wait to invite them back as we all thought they were brilliant!

We got into the Irish spirit on Friday for St Paddy’s Day.
We all dressed up in our finest green clothes, got our faces painted with clovers and enjoyed some Irish treats at our St Paddy’s Day Party!

We had so much fun at our St Patrick’s Day party for Red Nose Day!
We had cakes, dancing and silly games, all of which helped us raise £100 for Comic Relief!

Tuesday 21st

We enjoyed a trip to town for a spot of shopping.
Everyone got themselves some stuff they needed, along with a few things they wanted!

We enjoyed another forget me not cafe with lots of delicious cakes.
All families and friends are welcome to come and join us and share these very delicious cakes with us!
Freida enjoyed a hand massage and pamper whilst having a lovely chat and a cup of tea.

Our wonderful residents had a brilliant time with some drum therapy.
Nothing quite like getting together to make some noise and have a laugh!

We made some gooey mixtures, and some wet sand for residents to try out.

A couple of our residents really enjoyed baking flapjack!
They did a brilliant job as the flapjack was super scrummy to eat!
Wednesday 22nd
The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield
We took a trip out with one of our wonderful residents so she could take part in the lovely Sunday Services our local church in Huthwaite had to offer.
She said she really enjoyed the services and is looking forward to going again!

Thank you to our local CoOp for more beautiful flowers donated. It put lots of smiles on our resident’s faces!

We had fun celebrating St Paddy’s Day in the home!
One of our wonderful staff members dressed up for the day to bring some Irish cheer to the home!

We had an absolutely wonderful trip to Matlock Farm Park, it might have been cold and snowy but that didn’t stop us from enjoying the day.
We meet so many different animals, who were all so lovely.
After a walk around, we enjoyed lunch at The Fodder Wagon. The food was lovely, and they had a wide choice so everyone could have something they liked!

We had a lovely St Patrick’s Day at Lutterworth.
The residents enjoyed a fun afternoon singing along with some Irish music and enjoying a dance or two.
Thursday 23rd
Chamberlain Court in Bedworth
We had a wonderful morning of creative music therapy.
Everyone loves these sessions as we have a good sing-a-long with chair exercises was great fun!

We have many activities going on throughout the day for everyone to join in on.
A few of our favourites are board games, bowling and a good walk!

Friday 24th
The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield
We had a lovely afternoon at Bryley Park with three of our residents and the staff’s lovely dog Lilo.
They loved walking her and spending the afternoon with her!

Lisa treated Barbara to a lovely pamper session!
Barbara had a wash and set whilst enjoying a nice cup of tea in the posh china set with a doughnut.
She looked through the magazine while she waited for her hair to dry.
She said it was a wonderful couple of hours and loves her new hair doo!
We enjoyed a trip out for a bit of shopping.
There were a lot of different shops for us to check out, with plenty of technology to look at, shoes to try on and clothes to size up.
But our favourite was the Cadburys shop, with lots of different treats for us to choose from.

We have been busy making a start on early Easter decorations.
We made an easter bunny bunting and some little eggs to decorate the home!
Saturday 25th
Riversway in Bristol
Leslie enjoyed a trip out to visit his friend at the café in Bristol.
He also popped to Temple Meads to get the tickets for Great Malvern for his birthday in a couple of weeks.

Our residents were joined by some of their relatives for a round of Bingo!
So much fun to have a full house for when people get a full house!
