Monday 14th

  Meadow View in Alcester Some of our lovely residents had some Valentine Day Messages they wanted to share with loved ones! Happy Valentines Day, Everyone!

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

We had so much fun making some Valentines Day Cards for our loved ones! We had our Valentines Raffle over the weekend, and it was so much fun with some brilliant prizes won. We would like to thank the following donators that made our raffle possible! Asda at Sutton Tesco’s at Huthwaite Co-op at Huthwaite Debbie’s sweets in Idlewells, Sutton Various stalls in the indoor market in Sutton Boots at Sutton We made £80 from ticket sales towards our trip to the York Castle Museum in March. So thank you very much for taking part and donating! We had some great fun making some Valentine’s Day-themed centrepieces for our tables!  

Lutterworth Country House in Lutterworth

Last Friday, we created some Valentines Day Posters ready to be displayed today. Everyone had so much fun making them! We had a lovely colouring session this morning to celebrate Valentines Day in the home and to share our love with each other!  

Riversway in Bristol

Lilly made this beautiful heart canvas for her husband Gwyn as a gift for Valentine’s Day. She was super pleased with it as you can see, and we think he will love it just as much!   Rita enjoyed decorating this valentines biscuit! We did say that it’s very important to show how much you love someone all year round not just on Valentine’s Day, but she laughed and said I like getting gifts! She ate her biscuits after with a cup of tea and we sang a few songs together.   We handed out some Valentine’s Gifts 🎁 The gifts were some lovely chocolates and teddies to all of the wonderful residents at Riversway, as you can see, everyone loved them! We made this sweet platter for all the staff to help themselves to show how much they are loved and appreciated for Valentine’s Day. For this Valentine’s Day ❤️ we wanted to show our lovely residents how much they are loved, so we made and handed out these lovely heart iced cakes with bunches of flowers everyone! Everyone was really pleased it cheered them up!

Little Acres in Nuthall

We spent our Sunday afternoon making chocolate chip cookies in the shape of hearts ready for today! Some residents wrapped them up in red napkins with a rose to give to family for Valentine’s Day. Today we decorated the tables for our residents to celebrate the day of love! The residents were severed a three-course meal cooked to perfection by our senior Sarah, and each was given a rose to celebrate Valentine’s Day. Happy Valentine’s Day from the Little Acres Family ❤️

Westerlands Care Village in East Riding

At Elloughton House we created a Valentines Photo Booth as a way for everyone to share a little bit of Valentines Joy with you all today! We also had a wonderful lunch with some naughty (but tasty) cakes for afters with a nice cuppa.

Chestnut House in Marton

Today we made some Valentines Day Cards and Love heart messages to go in the window for all our loved ones! We also made some sweetie bags for all our lovely residents! 💕 Happy valentines day from Chestnuts House!  

Tuesday 15th

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

Yesterday we had a nice relaxing colouring session as part of our Valentines Day activities. Happy Valentine’s from all of us at Oakdene! 💕  

Riversway in Bristol

Our lovely Residents of Riversway sent home a little valentines gift to their loved ones! We made some handmade chocolates and put a little Red Rose and a card in the bags. We hope everyone enjoyed their little gifts!

Meadow View in Alcester

We had a valentines disco, and we set up a dance area for everyone to show off their moves! Everyone had such a wonderful time! 💕  

Wednesday 16th

 

Riversway in Bristol

Edward enjoyed looking through the book called “I Remember When” with Lisa. They had a lovely chat about lots of different things that cropped up in the book. They had a nice cup of tea and a cake whilst they read.   Connie enjoyed making this beautiful decoupage heart with Sue! They hung it on the wall for all to see and both thought it looked so pretty!

Oakdene in Mansfield

For Valentines Day, Alison got the residents together to decorate some cakes! Everyone had a blast, and they tasted just as good as they looked!   Meadow View in Alcester For national Pizza Day last week, the residents enjoyed making their mini pizzas with various toppings! They made for a very enjoyable at teatime that evening!  

Tanworth Court in Solihull

We have had a busy training session today as the new starters completed their Infection Control and Donning & Doffing of PPE training! Thanks to everyone who took part, you did amazing!  

Thursday 17th

 

Westerlands in East Riding

We had these lovely valentines flowers donated to us from JZ Flowers and Funky Pigeon.com A massive thank you, our residents absolutely love them!  

Meadow View’s in Alcester

These lovely cakes were made by our very own Debra Harman for valentine’s day! The residents all enjoyed one with our evening tea!  

Little Acres in Nuthall

Last week the residents made some apple and chocolate turnovers! They turned out fantastic, and we all enjoyed them for supper with a hot drink.

Riversway in Bristol

David enjoyed looking at the old book “Remember When” with Teresa.   We handed out these tasty fresh cream doughnuts! Everyone said they were a lovely treat and tasted delicious.  

Barons Park in Kirby Muxlow

We had a wonderful visit at Barons Park from Pete Lewis with his Newfoundland Dog, Storm. Our residents absolutely loved having cuddles with Storm! Pete runs a program for people who live with dementia, mental health and PTSD. As Pete did this visit free of charge all the staff had a whip-round and raised £46.38p for Pete’s program!  

Friday 18th

Loran House in Hull

A huge well done to all the staff as we recently achieved a 5 on our Food Hygiene Rating! This is a massive achievement, you should all be so proud!  

Meadow View in Alcester

We had a fun game of Valentine’s Bingo on Valentine’s Day! Everyone had so much fun it’s always exciting when someone gets to shout BINGO!  

Riversway in Bristol

Bridget and Joyce helped Linda make this delicious fruit cheesecake. After we handed it out for the residents to have a taste and they all said it was absolutely lovely  

Barons Park in Kirby Muxloe

Les and Joyce enjoyed a beautiful meal at The Mill on Soar in Leicester. This is the 1st time Les has ever had Coca Cola and he absolutely loved it!

Saturday 19th

 

Oakdene in Mansfield

The Residents wanted to go to Kingsmill Farm for a bite to eat and more importantly to enjoy one of their beautiful puddings! Everyone really enjoyed the meal and the company of staff members Pam and Alison who joined them on the trip.  

Riversway in Bristol

We had lots of fun with different games in the lounge! We all had refreshments after of cakes and squash.   Bridget and June enjoyed a cut and blow-dry. They felt very relaxed after and said it’s nice to get your hair done! We think they look lovely, we had refreshments and listen to some music!

A big thank you to Nick Furlow from creative mobility for coming back and doing some light exercises with the residents! Everyone had so much fun and felt much better after a good workout!  

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

We decided to make some lovely biscuits for Valentines Day! Our ladies preferred a lower surface for kneading the dough, and it helps them to turn out amazing! They were enjoyed, with a nice cuppa!  

Sunday 20th

 

Meadow View in Alcester

Reverend Alison McKay will be coming in once a month to perform the holy communion with the residents! Their beliefs are so important to them, and it’s lovely to see them taking part in the sermon.  

Riversway in Bristol

We had some car pictures printed off and out in frames to put up on Wilfred wall in his room, he was really happy with them.   Lisa and Teresa decided to pamper some of our residents with a cut and sets or a cut and blow-dry. It really lifted everyone spirits up and they felt lots better after! We had magazines chocolates and of course cups of tea in our little salon for them to enjoy!  

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

The residents came together with different recipes they would like to share or try and make for the first time. This week they chose to make the apple cake and the recipe swap is now a once a month thing!
