Monday 12th
The Fieldings
We had a pamper session in the home with one of our lovely residents enjoying a wash and blow dry. We then helped her to plait her hair to stay cool in the hot weather!
Riversway
We had Frank, the lovely white bunny in to visit the residents! Everyone just loves Frank and all the cuddles they got from him! A big thank you to Milly for bringing him in to see us again.
Oakdene
We joined the 5,000 at Party on the Market last week. There was so much live music from The Greatest Showman, a Robbie Williams tribute to a 60s throwback session with ABBA tribute singing Mamma Mia and Dancing Queen before headliner Gareth Gates took to the stage to perform his number-one singles Spirit in the Sky and Anyone of Us. It was such a fantastic day out, everyone had a brilliant time!
Lutterworth Country House
We hope everyone had been enjoyed the lovely sunny weather. Over here we have been enjoying some time in the garden soaking in the sun and keeping cool in our paddling pool!
River Meadows
A massive Well Done to the staff for their prompt action when a fire broke out next to the Home this weekend.
The staff all acted professionally and used their training to support Residents out of the building safely.
We are also very grateful for the invaluable support provided by the local community.
Neighbours were quick to help, escorting Residents, providing refreshments and generally helping to be with our Residents while the fire was brought under control. Donna, (Manager of River Meadows) would like her staff team and their wonderful neighbours to know that they are all OUTSTANDING.
Tuesday 13th
Charnwood Oaks

A massive Happy Birthday to Bertha who turned 109 last week! Bertha is the eldest person in Lincolnshire and the 36th eldest in the world! What an achievement, Happy Birthday, Bertha!
Woodlands
We took a trip over to Rutland Water to enjoy the sunshine! It was a lovely hot day and the breeze coming off the lake was wonderful!
Oakdene
We had a fantastic afternoon at the bowling alley. After a few rounds, we headed to the arcades to try the games available. The 2p slots are always a lot of fun!
Riversway
Lesley enjoyed his weekly trip out. We popped up to Kingswood to see his friends in his local café followed by some shopping.

We had a lovely afternoon out watching a Gary Barlow tribute act.
Wednesday 14th
Barons Park

Bridget enjoyed watering the garden with Lisa. As they looked at all the beautiful flowers around the grounds, Bridget spoke about how her dad was a gardener when he lived in Ireland. She said she must be like her dad as she loves being outside and pottering around doing gardening.
Oakdene
We decided to enjoy the nice weather in a beer garden. We had a cheeky paint with an ice cream Sunday in the sunshine, and it was fantastic!
Woodlands
We had a wonderful afternoon here at Woodlands playing some indoor Skittles! Things started nice and calm, but by the end, these two gentlemen were getting quite competitive with one another! They are looking forward to the next round!
Thursday 15th
Woodlands
A massive well done to the whole team on scoring a 98% in the recent infection control inspection. This is a huge achievement, you should all be so proud of the result!Old Station Close
Mason had the most amazing time last Sunday at the Capital One Summertime Ball in London. He got to see lots of his favourite artists perform live and was given VIP treatment for the day. A big thank you to Paige and Carrie for supporting Maon and ensuring he had such a great day.

We welcomed back Jenny and Terry once again for their amazing Ballroom Dancing performance. Everybody enjoyed watching them dance gracefully around the lounge with a few residents getting up and having a dance as well!
Chamberline Court
It has been Alan’s dream to get his wife, Marion, out of bed to play the piano again. After 2 years, it finally happened! They have had a lovely morning, albeit a little emotional for Alan.

Woodlands
We had an afternoon BBQ here at Woodlands with homemade burgers, homemade chicken skewers, a refreshing salad and drinks. It was a beautiful summer BBQ for all our residents who enjoyed the food, the atmosphere and the garden lounge for shade.
Riversway
It’s been very warm recently so we decided to make our own delicious ice cream. Once set, we made ice cream sundaes, they were delicious.
Oakdene
Over the weekend, we enjoyed a spot of lunch at our local. It is always such good grub, and we all enjoyed a nice cold dessert to help combat the heat.

We welcomed back Shannon once again! We think she has a beautiful voice and enjoyed her singing lots of old songs.

We have been enjoying a mix of activities around the home recently. Some group sessions in the garden, to make the most of the sun whilst it is here and some calmer inside sessions for those who don’t want to be in the heat.
