“We were extremely apprehensive when we were told that my mum would need to move into a care home after a devastating stroke, as you only ever hear the bad things about care homes, but we needn’t have worried at all.
We were so lucky to find a place for Mum at Ashlands. It’s a wonderful care home where my mum is consistently treated with dignity, respect and patience. She requires full-on care, but every single staff member has made her feel like she is at home with family. It’s a huge comfort to know that the time my mum does have left will be spent in a place where she feels truly loved.
Cannot sing the staff praises high enough, from the management to carers to cleaners, everyone has made a really painful time so much more bearable.”

Donald is celebrating his 74th Birthday today, we decorated his room for the occasion and he absolutely loved his gifts from us all!

We prepared for the game yesterday evening with a scrummy lunch and some football related activities, such as designing our own England football shirts.

We had a good old time, cheering and supporting England last Sunday!
We all agreed that even though we didn’t win, the boys can hold their heads up high, they did an amazing job!

Oakdene in Mansfield
After a recent visit to Oakdene in Mansfield, Gemma Dawkins a Community Psychiatric Nurse had some wonderful things to say about the home!
This is a testament to the brilliant work you all do in the home!
We all got together to support our lads in the Euro 2020 Final.
We might not have won but we all think the boys did a fantastic job throughout the whole tournament and are a credit to this country.

Pam had a lovely time in the garden, just chilling! She really enjoyed having a visit from our cat, Dexter!
Holmes House in South Wigston
We received these goodies from a relative of a resident who has sadly passed away.
She was from South Africa and always spoke about her childhood living on a plantation. Her daughter wanted to share some biscuits with the staff so they could taste a little bit of South African.

Thursday 15th
Fir Close in Louth
On Sunday we had a party for the Euro Finals. We cheered England on and really hoped they would bring it home, but sadly that was not the case.
We think Italy played very well and deserved the win! Everyone enjoyed the party very much!
Glengarriff in Market Rasen
On Sunday we went to the beach!
We all had so much fun, chilling on the beach, building sandcastles and hanging out.

Bleddyn enjoyed some time in the garden today with Lisa, they had a nice chat whilst the birds were singing away! He enjoyed some delicious apple pies and an ice-cold drink.

We all had a great time, singing, dancing, cheering and tooting our football horns!

Today we enjoyed a good old game of bingo.
Everyone had a raffle ticket on arrival, so we were all Winners.
There were a few prizes left for a line and a full house.
Everyone had a brilliant time!
