The residents celebrated VE Day yesterday, we had good spread and loads of fun and games.
Everyone had a fun time with some amazing Flag Waving!
Riversway in Bristol
We celebrated VE day by looking at old photos of street parties, old newspapers and ration books.
The residents shared their stories of when the sirens used to go off. We made bunting and enjoyed cream scones and fresh strawberries. To finish off we listened to Vera Lynn whilst waving our flags.

We handed out some fresh cream and jams scones as a surprise. The residents said that they really liked our trolley too.

Last Friday, Mo celebrated her 83rd birthday! She loved her cards and gifts from her family and friends. HappyBirthday, Mo!

We had a chocolate fountain with fresh fruit and it was delicious! We played old songs and played a guessing game of who sang the tune ?Lutterworth Country House in Bitteswell

Westerlands Care Village in East RidingOur very own Mr Ray Lord made an appearance on the local news this week.
Ray has been receiving letters from local schools as their way to help celebrate VE Day and to find out what serving his country meant to him.

Some of the residents got together to prepare for VE Day last week.
They came together to create their very own bunting from the Prime Life Events Calendar to put their own special twist on the day!
Brilliant work all, they look fantastic!
Friday 14th May

We enjoyed looking at different books with the residents!
They really enjoyed sitting down for a good read and chat about their passions.
Chestnut House in Marton
One of the residents decided it was time for a small makeover for the other residents.
They all enjoyed a good nail painting session, with two of the men joining in and showing that it is alright for men to get involved as well.
How brilliant, everyone’s nails look so good!
Saturday 15th May

The makeovers continued as another resident decided that this time the others should have their hair braided.
Everyone had a fun time getting a new hairstyle!

Teresa styled Brenda’s hair and she loved it so much she wanted to show it off!
After, they had a nice chat and a cuppa!
Mo and Joyce enjoyed doing some water paintings.
They also enjoyed a nice cuppa and a slice of cake!
Oakdene in Mansfield
They have created this beautiful dignity tree in their home.
The tree has pictures, showing what Dignity means to them within the home!
It looks very beautiful, fantastic work all!

We made these beautiful bouquet flowers by sticking pom poms and felt flowers to them.
We also got to enjoy a nice cup of tea and a cake whilst we worked on this beautiful project.
