Barons Park
Ready, Steady, Bargain Hunt!
Residents headed to Hinckley for a charity shop shopping challenge inspired by the TV show Bargain Hunt. They split into a Red Team and Blue Team, with everyone searching for great bargains.The residents and staff soon became very competitive as they tried to find the best items for their team!

Beechlands
The home had an amazing summer fete.
Staff and residents spent weeks getting donations and putting the stalls together.
They had visits from families, friends and the local community to enjoy the fete. The home managed to raise £385.77 to go towards the residents’ funds.

The residents had a lovely day out to Rothley train station, where they had cakes, drinks and a history talk about Leicester and steam trains.

Lorraine brought in a selection of her friendly reptiles for all the residents to meet. Everyone was so brave to say hello to them; some even had a cuddle.

The home held a fantastic Pirate Party! The team decorated the house with flags and banners, and residents, staff, and guests dressed up in their best pirate costumes.
There was a raffle, a “guess the name of the teddy” game, games in the garden, “pie the pirate,” and a treasure hunt. £131 was raised for the social fund; overall, one amazing pirate party!

Rainy days are perfect for a little baking! Residents enjoyed making, baking and, of course, tasting some delicious homemade cookies. They even had a little baker come to join them!

Curtis asked if he could go camping, so with a bit of quick thinking, it was planned and arranged for him to go the very next day!
Curtis doesn’t really like going out, so this was a massive accomplishment for him. Staff member Devran did an amazing job in making sure this happened for him.

Derek has been awarded Resident of the Month for August due to his hard work in managing his diabetes.
This is something Derek has struggled to manage and keep under control for some time.
But with staff support and encouragement, he is finding a routine and will seek support from staff when he needs it.
