St Oggs in Morton

“Happy Retirement to Chris Keeley!

Chris Keeley, of St Ogg’s in Gainsborough, spent her last day as a Prime Life Registered Manager on Friday. Chris who has worked for Prime Life since 2004, started as a Care Assistant when the company took over Trentside Care, who Chris had already worked for 3 years. Chris has worked tirelessly through her time with Prime Life, taking on her management position in 2011 and has been a consistent figurehead at St Oggs ever since.

To mark this momentous occasion our Chairman, Peter Van Herrewege thanked Chris for her years of service in a socially distanced visit to the home last week. Chris received flowers from James Wood, Managing Director and Jane Ginnelly, Regional Director to thank her for her years of service and the contribution that she has made to the home. In true Chris style, her last day was spent with residents and her staff team. A buffet lunch was enjoyed during the day with a Chinese meal at night so that everyone could be included.

Chris hopes to be enjoying a Japanese Cruising holiday now that she has retired, although COVID-19 restrictions will dictate when this can actually happen! Chris thought that it was quite ironic that she managed to fit in her last COVID vaccination on her last day, but as she is planning to come back and work some shifts on the bank so it will come in very handy. Chris said that she was looking forward to, “never setting her alarm again!” and is very much looking forward to having a long holiday.

We wish Chris a very happy and healthy retirement, she will be missed. Thank you from everyone at Prime Life for being part of the family for so long.”

“A huge shout-out to the team at Ashlands in Leicester for this lovely review they had on www.carehome.co.uk! Thank you for going above and beyond ??

“My mum went into Ashlands in August 2020; she always said that she didn’t want to go into a care home, but unfortunately, she had to go in as she could no longer cope alone at home. She was able to take a few personal items from her home with her, so her room looks familiar. When we visit, she will ask if she is staying here as she loves it, as all the staff are very friendly. Mum is treated like family, she has put weight on, as the food is lovely, she tells us.”

Sunday 4th April

Peaker Park Care Village in Market Harborough

“A big well done, and shout-out to Alison and the staff team at Peaker Park Care Village in Market Harborough for being incredible, and working hard to support residents. Take a look at this lovely review they received on www.carehome.co.uk??

“I am so grateful that both of my parents are safe, well cared for and living in the same care home. My parents both have dementia and were moved to Peaker Park from hospitals in May and July 2020 for their own safety, as living independently was no longer appropriate.

The last year has been a most traumatic time with regards to my parents’ health and the pandemic restrictions that have been in place making it nearly impossible for me to support my parents in the way I would have wanted to. The staff that look after my parents have been very understanding, approachable, friendly and helpful and on the few times I have been able to visit, clearly care with compassion and dedication.

I have not had the opportunity to look around the home or experience any of the activities but we love seeing photographs on the dedicated Facebook page and try to arrange video calls with support from staff which is very reassuring. My mum always tells us ‘they are wonderful workers’ which says it all. Thank you.”
