A Week at PrimeLife 14th – 20th March 2022

Monday 14th

Old Station Close in Shepshed

We had a week-long International Women’s Day here at Old Station Close. Our ladies celebrated with a party, a pamper experience with foot soaks and relaxing face masks, a zen session, games and flower arranging. It was such a lovely week celebrating the wonderful ladies in our home.  

Riversway in Bristol

We had a lovely sing-song on Saturday with some of our residents. We enjoyed lots of refreshments and sang along to lots of old music. We all held hands and had a wonderful afternoon together!  

Clarence House and the Netherlands in Horncastle

Our lovely manager Eleanor had this message to share: “My dearest Clarence House and the Netherlands. Just wanted to say thank you very much to support me in such a difficult time for me, as my mother and friends are in Mariupol in Ukraine without any news or connections.”  

Tuesday 15th

 

Riversway in Bristol

We received these lovely flowers to hand out from our local Coop! Thank you so much, the residents really love receiving lots of bunches of flowers for their rooms!

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

We took a trip to the York Castle Museum. They had plenty of Victorian area themed attractions for us to look at and explore and the old Prisons were so much fun to wander around and learn about.  

Wednesday 16th

 

Riversway in Bristol

David enjoyed playing a game of pairs on the giant iPad! We then enjoyed a nice cuppa and a chat after the game. We had some St Patrick’s day dazzle yesterday.
We handed out some locket cakes and a few teddies to the residents as a little treat for the day!
 

Barons Park in Kirby Muxloe

Alfie, the therapy pony, visited us early last week. The residents absolutely loved him, it was such a fun afternoon!

Oakdene in Mansfield

We enjoyed a lovely bus trip out to Derby to see the sights. We also enjoyed a lovely Pub Lunch whilst on our trip out. It was such a wonderful day out!  

Thursday 17th

 

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

For International Women’s Day, last week we wrote inspirational sayings on mugs with pens for pottery, so the ladies could share a cuppa and a message together!  

Riversway in Bristol

Pam and Valerie loved the daffodils from M&S we got for them! We thought it would be nice to see some spring flowers in their windows.   For Social Care Day of Remembrance and Reflection today, we helped the residents to write out what they reflect on for their posters. We had a nice talk about how we thank lots of different people in the social care sector and also our friends and families we have sadly lost.   St Patrick’s day today, we made these cute leprechaun hats that we filled with sweats! We had lots of fun and we enjoyed picking our favourite sweets from the selection! We had tea, coffee and cakes while we were busy working St Patricks Day at Riversway Pub Club today, with lots of dancing and singing to Irish music! We watched some Irish dancing on the big iPad and enjoyed each other’s company with lots of refreshments.  

Stoneygate Road in Leicester

Today is Social Care Day of Remember and Reflection and the residents coloured in some posters whilst we remembered those who helped us during the pandemic and to remind us of those who we lost.  

Westerlands in East Riding

It felt like a cake making day at Brough Lodge, so we got together to make some lovely rice crispy cakes. Everyone had a brilliant time, so much fun, especially the mixing.  

Lutterworth Country House

Happy St Patrick’s Day everyone! We got out our old hats, and our lovely Fred played some songs for us all to enjoy! Everyone had so much fun!  

Friday 18th

 

Stoneygate Road in Leicester

We made the most of the nice weather and went for a coffee and cake at our local coffee shop! It was so nice to get out of the home and enjoy the sun!  

Riversway in Bristol

Rita enjoyed having her hair washed and set! We had a lovely afternoon with music, tea and cakes. She looked beautiful with her new hair-do!

White Acres

We are having a staff PJ day in the home today for Red Nose Day! One of our residents loved the idea so much they wanted a snap with one of us!  

Barons Park in Kirby Muxloe

We enjoyed a lovely trip out to Bradgate Park for a nice wander around and sightseeing. We got to see some lovely pieces of nature, including some deer. After all our walking, we decided to enjoy a nice pub lunch. It was such a wonderful day.

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had a lovely afternoon out for some bowling. The residents loved the bowling session and after we all enjoyed a drink and burger afterwards.  

Old Station Close in Shepshed

Yesterday we had a party for St Patrick’s day! The staff dressed in green and residents had party games and green party food. It was such a lovely day!  

Saturday 19th

 

Meadow View in Alcester

We are so excited in the home, the donated Birdbox is finally in use, as we have blue tits nesting in the garden!  

Riversway in Bristol

Stella loves smarties so we took some up for her as a surprise! She was really happy with the gift! Bleddyn enjoyed his Welsh cakes. There his absolute favourite and he enjoyed them with a good cuppa!

Oakdene in Mansfield

We had a wonderful afternoon playing some classic games! The residents had so much fun playing in our new Games room. Some fan favourites are the air hockey table and the Pac-Man machine.

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

We made some lovely reflective butterflies. We created the butterfly shape out of cardboard then added cut CDs to the butterfly to make the reflective effect.  

Meadow View in Alcester

We celebrated nutrition and hydration week in the home with some Mocktails! Everyone enjoyed the different drinks, they all thought they were very tasty indeed!

Sunday 20th

 

Riversway in Bristol

Marlos Back! He loved all the attention, cuddles and treats we gave him! As you can see he definitely put smiles on the resident’s faces!  

Meadow View in Alcester

We had a wonderful visit from Lollipop Ponies. The residents absolutely loved the Ponies as faces just lit with joy when they saw them!  

Oakdene in Mansfield

The residents enjoyed their first movie in our new Cinema Room.
They chose James Bond, and they all had a brilliant time!
 

The Fieldings in Sutton-in-Ashfield

The next on the list for The Fieldings receipt swap was Pears Helene. So we got together, pealed up some pears and made the delicious dessert.
